About

I design products where the biggest challenge isn't the screen

I'm a Senior Product Designer based in Spain, working remotely on complex B2B SaaS products. Most of my work sits in technical domains — water network management, simulation tooling and educational platforms — where understanding the problem is often harder than designing the interface.

I studied Fine Arts before moving into Product Design and I taught drawing and painting for nine years alongside it. That background is essential to how I work: observation first, then structure, then craft.

What I like about product design is the point where user needs, commercial reality and technical limits disagree. That's where design has the most impact.

Philosophy

How I think about design

I think of design as a decision-making tool. A good design artefact isn't the one that looks most finished, it's the one that enables a team decide confidently.

In technical products, the content is the system's behaviour. If a user can't tell what the software did and why, no amount of visual polish will earn their trust.

I'd rather ship something honest and slightly plain than something polished that misrepresents the product. Expectations set by an interface get paid for later, usually by support.

Leadership

How I think about leading

Even though I am a facilitator, I don't see leadership as staying neutral until everyone agrees. I bring a clear recommendation, explain the reasoning behind it, and make the trade-offs visible so the team can challenge it and decide with confidence.

Good facilitation gives people room to contribute without diffusing responsibility. My role is to frame the question, invite the perspectives that could change the answer, and help the group move towards a decision.

Collaboration matters, but so does having the courage to choose and move forward.

Practice

How I work

  1. 01

Start with discovery, frame the problem

The user pains, the product needs and the business objectives shape the solution above personal opinions and aesthetics.

  2. 02

Talk to the people doing the work

User interviews and observation over assumptions. In technical domains the domain expert is key.

  3. 03

Map the journey before the screens

I start with the information architecture and flows because they determine what the interface needs to carry and how much work is involved.

  4. 04

Design with the engineer who owns the logic

When system behaviour is the content, hand-off is the wrong model. Define together, ship together.

Values

What I hold to

Honest defaults
I try not to set expectations the product can't keep.
Ask the uncomfortable question
The thing nobody wants to say out loud is usually the thing that needs saying.
Surround yourself with people who know more
The best work happens when everyone in the room has something to teach the others.
Fail fast, learn faster
A wrong idea shipped and corrected teaches way more than a perfect idea that never made it to production.
